Cambridge City Council is a district council providing services for the City of Cambridge serving a population of 122,800. These services include refuse, planning, open spaces, swimming pools, housing, environmental health, council tax and business rates collection and benefits. The Council wishes to establish a comprehensive contract for the support of its operational ICT environment, including the following: Helpdesk support, Server Operational Support, Network Support, Database Administration, Desktop Support (including hardware support), Application Support and Development, Telephone Services and PABX Operational Support, Project Management and Consultancy, Administration/Procurement. The current contract expires at the end of June 2013. The Council has about 1000 desktops over a wide areas network covering four main sites, and a number of smaller connections. The Council has twin SANs, and around 100 servers, of which a number are virtualised.
