Maritime Platform Systems Support Partner.

The Maritime Platform Systems (MPS) team, which is part of the Ships Operating Centre within Defence Equipment and Support organisation, provides global support to Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships and submarines. The Type 45 Destroyer Class will become part of the MPS portfolio from November 2016, followed very shortly afterwards by the Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carrier. In light of this MPS is considering contracting for a Support Partner, who will be responsible for provision of services covering spares, repairs and post design services (including provision of technical SQEP) for maritime platform equipment. The scope of hardware supply will include (but is not limited to): gas turbines, high voltage electrical systems, IT software, environmental & domestic systems, mechanical handling systems, structural items and low cost fabrications, electrical and mechanical components, low-cost items e.g. fastners, seals and clips. The requirement may be procured as a whole or broken down into smaller commercial packages to optimise the markets appetite for the work. This PIN is not a means to seek formal expressions of interest; that opportunity may become available when MPS has an improved understanding of market capabilities. It should be noted that the term Partner is strictly in a customer supplier relationship and there is no intention to form an enduring Partnership — i.e. a business enterprise in which the profits and losses are shared proportionally. The purpose of this PIN is to test the appetite of the market to satisfy a contract or a number of contracts as outlined above. MPS will consider novel and/or innovate solutions, which may be via procurement specialist, sourcing all the equipment and services from the supply chain or a supplier with maritime support as their core business. Readers are invited to submit requests for invites to the Industry day to desshipscomrcl-mps-t45qec@mod.uk; (dates and details to be included in invite please note this could be as early as 2.7.2015). Please include with the request the following information: 1. a company profile including relevant background information regarding experience of providing similar services outlined above; 2. a response to the following questions in no more than 500 words: — what areas of providing a support solution would your company be interested in and why? — would your company consider collaborating on this requirement and if so what areas would you consider collaborating in order to enhance your ability to provide a complete service? — what knowledge, skills and experience can be offered to support platforms such as T45 and QEC? Please note: — this information will not be used to down select suppliers, that will be conducted via the Dynamic Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, — any information provided for the above will be kept confidential, any questions from suppliers (and the Authority's answers) prior, during or subsequent to the Industry Day will be made available to all attending suppliers, — a Frequently Asked Questions pack will be provided at the Industry Day — please submit any questions that you would like to be included by 21.6.2015.
