Dacorum Borough Council intends to implement a system to its waste collection service aimed at improved customer service, elimination of drivers paperwork and use of mobile phones, and increased recycling performance. The Council expects the implementation to be completed by December 2011. The system shall provide information flow in real time between waste & recycling collection teams, numbering up to 28 vehicles, and both the operational depot and the Councils Customer Service Unit. The system shall be linked to the Councils Local Land & Property Gazetteer (LLPG) via each propertys Unique Street Reference Number (USRN), and also via GPRS to the Councils Flare Civica System The system shall provide in-cab information to each driver relating to each property including size and location of bins, and other attributes including assisted collection, non standard bin. The system shall be capable of providing real time vehicle tracking information.
