South Staffordshire is a rural district covering an area of 101 000 acres on the northwestern edge of the West Midlands conurbation. Despite having a population of over 106 000, there are no towns in the district, but a number of villages with populations over 12 000. The Council has invited tenders for a new Waste and Recycling Collection service to commence on 1.4.2013. In preparation for the new service contract, the Council requires approximately 45 000 Wheeled Refuse Containers to be supplied and distributed to residents as directed. The economic operator will be responsible for providing a location from which to distribute the 45 000 containers as the Council cannot provide a depot. The containers required are to be of 240 litres capacity and manufactured to the RAL Standard. Distribution to residents is required to take place between 25.2.2013 – 23.3.2013. Staffordshire Procurement is acting on behalf of South Staffordshire Council for this project. The contracting authority is South Staffordshire Council.
