VEAS plans to increase capacity in parts of the treatment plant at Slemmestad. The treatment plant is an underground facility and consists of a network of caverns and tunnels. The work includes building of a new substation, various concrete work in 1 of the existing process halls and various work including extension of an existing pump hall. These 3 places are located in approximate the same area of the treatment plant. The treatment plant will be fully operational during construction. Duration of the Contract Work is set to 7,5 months. The main Contract works can be summed up as the following list. The list is not complete and the amounts are just roughly estimated. For further details please refer to the tender Document‘s BoQ. — Extension of the cavern (IPUR), rock removal without the use of explosives: Ca. 175 m 3 ; — Hole making in rock for new suction line (DN800) between IPUR and intake sump: 4 holes with a total length of approximately 37 m. The works include embedding of suction line; — Hole making in rock for new pump lines (DN600) between IPUR and access tunnel: 2 (4) holes with a total length of approximately 18 m (36 m). The works include embedding of pump line; — Excavation of 1 niche in the rock for new substation: Ca. 500 m 3 ; — Rock support with shotcrete, rock bolts and shotcrete arches; — Concrete work: approximately 140 m 3 ; — Drilling of various holes in rock for ducts, drainage and more.
