The new hospital in Drammen (NSD) will e a local hospital for the municipalities of Lier, Drammen, Røyken, Hurum and Sande and the regional hospital for all of Vestre Viken. The division of functions between the hospitals in Vestre Viken is adapted to the assignment and function division in the South Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority. NSD is dimensioned to cover the need for specialist health services to a population of approx. 500 500 residents in the year 2030. The new hospital at Brakerøya will include both somatics, mental health care and cross-discipline specialised substance abuse treatment and the project has a gross area limit of approx. 122 000 m 2 . The South Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority has hired resources from Sykehusbygg HF to lead and control the project organisation. For the PNSD project, the following major milestones are defined: — commencement of detailed project: December 2018 — construction commencement: autumn 2019 — completion: 2024/2025
