The University of Salford currently operates a large data and IP telephony network primarily utilising Cisco products. An existing supply and maintenance tender agreement ends on the 31.7.2012. This document defines the University of Salfords requirements for two distinct areas of service identified as lot 1 and lot 2. Suppliers are invited to bid for one or more lots. On the tender, with the award being made on the basis of the University estimate of the suppliers ability to deliver a solution considering the following criteria: Lot 1: Supply. Pricing (60 %). Customer Requirements (25 %). Added value (15 %). Lot 2: Maintenance, Support & Consultancy. Pricing (40 %). Customer Requirements (40 %). Added value (20 %). Contracts will be awarded for a maximum of 3 years with an option to extend for a further year. The above two areas of service are: Lot 1: Supply of networking equipment (including but not exclusive to switches, routers, wireless access points, IP telephony hardware) compatible with existing UoS systems. Lot 2: Maintenance and support of existing network equipment with additional consultancy based on a minimum of 10 days per year (during a standard week Mon to Fri), whereby engineers can be called on-site to assist University personnel in the resolution of issues or to discuss future technological requirements.
