The train simulator has been used extensively for both the training of new train drivers and the ongoing competency assessment of current train drivers. The current vehicles simulated are the Class 3000 and Class 4000, 3 car set CAF trains. The current contract is due to expire May 2021. It is intended that a new contract be established with the aim of achieving the following: — Delivery of efficient and effective responsive services, — Delivery of Hardware Upgrade and essential changes to programs, — Flexibility to meet individual business needs and changing requirements. Interested Economic Operators must be able to display they have an established platform in Train Driving Simulation.
