Solid Waste Remediation NIE Networks’ Environmental Management System (EMS) requires reactive call-out services to any instance of environmental damage in a manner that complies fully with legislative requirements, best practice techniques and ensures NIE Networks customer/stakeholder satisfaction. For example this could involve control and remediation of land or water pollution following oil spills caused by network faults, vehicle faults or vandalism. These can occur in NIE Networks’ depots or substations, public carriageways and footpaths or on private lands e.g. agricultural, commercial or domestic properties Liquid waste remediation/cleaning NIE Networks require contaminated fluid management services on a periodic basis. This includes the need to empty/maintain NIE Networks oil interceptors at several locations across NI, occasional removal of oil contaminated water from substation cable basements and removal of oil contaminated water.
