Cardiff Council are acting as lead authority on behalf of the WPC for the framework arrangement for the Supply of Asphalt, Macadam, Drystone Aggregate, Sand & Ready mix Concrete for the period 3rd October, 2014 to the 2nd October, 2016 with the option to extend for up to an additional 2 x 12 month periods. These items have been split into 8 LOTS and then Sub-Lots. The value of the proposed Framework Agreement has been calculated with reference to the historical spend of all those public sector organisations named. The Lead Authority offers no guarantee of volume or value in respect of any future expenditure. This Framework Agreement procurement exercise is being led by Cardiff Council on behalf of the participating bodies in the WPC. There are a number of organisations who have indicated that they may choose to use and/or are interested in using this framework during its lifetime. These organisations are: Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council; Bridgend County Borough Council; Caerphilly County Borough Council; City of Cardiff Council; Carmarthenshire County Council; Ceredigion County Council; Denbighshire County Council; Flintshire County Council; Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council; Monmouthshire County Council; Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council; Newport City Council; Pembrokeshire County Council; Powys County Council; Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council; City & County of Swansea Council; Torfaen County Borough Council; Vale of Glamorgan Council; Wrexham County Borough Council. The Framework has been divided into 8 Lots on the basis of type, and each Authority is represented in each Lot as a Sub-Lot. We will look to appoint a maximum of three contractors per Sub-Lot. Lot 1 - Hot Rolled Asphalt Lot 2 - Close Graded and Dense Bitumen Macadam Lot 3 - Medium and Fine Graded Bitumen Macadam Lot 4 - Aggregates for Bitumous Mixtures and Surface Treatments Lot 5 - Aggregates for unbound and Hydraulically Bound Material Lot 6 - Aggregates for Concrete Lot 7 - Sand Lot 8 - Ready Mix Concrete Further detail is provided in the tender documentation. Tenderers can bid for one, some or all the Lots and Sub-Lots. Tenderers should note that although the Lead Authority for the purposes of this procurement is the City of Cardiff Council, an organisation wishing to use this arrangement will need to enter into a framework agreement with their appointed Sub-Lot contractors on the terms and conditions set out in the tender documentation.
