Translink has around 190 electricity supplies consuming approximately 14GWh P/A sites are scattered around Northern Ireland powering the NI Railways infrastructure and all sites on the Ulsterbus and Metro networks. Sites include 2 high voltage supplies, 15 medium voltage supplies and the remainder being a combination of three phase and single phase supplies at which the consumption varies by site depending on use. Translink currently purchases around 60 % of all electricity consumed from renewable sources. Translink actively promote the use of energy from renewable sources, however Translink is a commercial operation and seek VFM in all aspects of its business. Initially a contract for 12 months will be offered, with the option to extend for a further 6, 12, 18 or 24 months. The anticipated start date is October 2011. The aim of this exercise is to award the contract to 1 supplier. Translink is utilising an electronic tendering system to manage this procurement and communicate with tenderers. Accordingly, there will be no hard copy documents issued and it is intended that all communications with Translink including the submission of PQQ and Tender responses will be conducted via www.e-sourcingni.bravosolution.co.uk. Unless stated otherwise in these Instructions or in writing from Translink, all communications including queries from Applicants and any PQQ amendments from Translink during the period of this procurement exercise shall be submitted through and published via the online messaging facility provided on the e-sourcing NI portal (see “Messages” section). The onus lies on the applicant to read and keep up to date with all the information published on eSourcing NI in relation to this requirement.
