Aberdeenshire Council has identified a requirement to implement a Real Time Passenger Information system, to improve the quality and availability of bus information (real time bus arrival and departure times) to bus users, residents and visitors within its area. The Council wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to supply and install a RTPI system for Aberdeenshire, and to maintain this system for a period of up to six years following commissioning. It is anticipated that the RTPI system will be tendered in two lots. Lot One will involves the supply, installation and maintenance of the central RTPI system, communication links, user and bus operator interfaces, with an option for the supply, installation and maintenance of a public user website. Lot Two involves the supply, installation and maintenance of equipment on buses to provide location information in RTIG Digital Air Interface Protocol format. Equipment shall be fitted on up to one hundred buses which are used on the Council’s supported network. Expressions of interest are invited from suppliers who are able to fulfil either Lot 1 or Lot 2, or both Lots. For further information please see the tender documents.
