The Peninsula Purchasing and Supply Alliance on behalf of NHS Bath and North East Somerset are looking to procure a high quality Primary Care Talking Therapies Service. As part of our plans for the development of talking therapies and in order to further improve the range and access to services for the citizens of Bath and North East Somerset, the Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS B&NES are working together to put our Primary Care Psychological Therapies - IAPT and Counselling - services out to tender. The core objectives of this procurement are: — To encourage mental health and wellbeing in individuals, — To ensure people experiencing common mental health problems in Primary Care have equitable access to talking therapies, — To see greater emphasis in the community on improving the psychological health of older people, people with long term conditions, those from minority communities and young adults, — To have flexible services that provide people with a choice of talking therapies and ways in which that therapy is provided, — To enable people to make the most of their own and their communities’ strengths to maintain their mental health, — To ensure that client feedback and outcomes are central to how the quality of the service is measured, — To ensure people have an experience of joined up mental health information and services.
