The primary requirement is to install a replacement system, and provide associated ongoing maintenance services, which will deliver high quality real time passenger information across Southampton on a scale at least equivalent to the current system that includes: — An ability to automate the loading of data into the system using the TransXchange format, — An architecture that enables multiple bus operators to manage their fleet and enter their own data whilst maintaining strict confidentiality between operators, — Extensive and flexible reporting from the system to support fleet management and improvement of fleet operations, such as punctuality, — Capacity for expansion of the system well beyond the current numbers of buses and signs, — Significantly lower revenue costs. In the interests of efficient public procurement SCC will have the option to require the contractor to enter into a contract with PCC and/or HCC during the initial 4 (four) years following the award of the contract by SCC on substantially the same terms and conditions for the same type of supplies. The estimated spend range detailed within this OJEU notice includes the potential spend of HCC and PCC. Detailed below is the breakdown of potential spend, however it should be noted that there is no committment that any of the spend detailed below would be committed to by HCC and/or PCC. The contractor within the scope of the contract may be required to work with 3rd party commercial entities to include and not be limited to: First Group PLC, The Go South Coast Group of Companies (including Wilts & Dorset, Bluestar and Unilink), Stagecoach South Ltd and Black Velvet Travel Ltd.
