The proposed contract is for the Main Construction Contractor for the Extension and Refurbishment of Tate Gallery in St. Ives, Cornwall. This contract will follow an Enabling Works contract undertaken by a separately appointed contractor which will undertake demolition, excavation and diversion of utilities to create a site at reduced levels ready for the extension to be built. The Enabling Works contract does not form part of the contract which is the subject of this contract notice. There is a possibility that the main construction contract may need to be split into discreet phases with sequential completions, to achieve best fit with existing gallery operations. Tate may invite a formal second round to the tender process to include Value Engineering opportunities. The process and criteria for selection will be detailed in the ITT.
