The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) Armoured Vehicles Programmes (AVP) In-Service Platforms (ISP) has a possible future requirement to deliver a Category B Future All Terrain Vehicle (F/ATV) to replace the BV206 Platform. The littoral manoeuvre components of 3 Commando Brigade and Army elements of the Joint Force Command (JFC) requiring amphibious all-terrain vehicles are currently provided with the BV206 family of support vehicles. BV206 is obsolescent and is being fleet managed to an extended out of service (OSD) of 2021 to align with the Planned Assumed Service Entry (PASE) date for the replacement, F/ATV. The F/ATV requirement is to provide a robust, easily supportable system, comprising all terrain support vehicles that enable the user to achieve mission success in its primary role as Theatre Entry Forces, and can operate in the most diverse climatic and topographical conditions worldwide, within defined threat and readiness levels, in order to support and contribute to littoral and land manoeuvre operations (including air). F/ATV will deliver the following variants: — Troop Carrying Variant (TCV). — Command Variant (CV). — Ambulance (AMB). — Mortar Variant (MOR). — Repair Variant (RV). — Logistics Variant (Flatbed).
