EirGrid has a requirement for the implementation and management of a Cyber Recovery Vault is to provide an inaccessible environment to attackers so that the response team can conduct remediation efforts to restore all predefined critical assets without being detected by the adversaries. The dangers and costs of a cyber attack require EirGrid to put in place preventative measures to ensure EirGrid can recover to a consistent state, particularly with the threat of malware and ransomware. A successful strategy for recovering from cyber attacks requires a dedicated secure Cyber Recovery Vault.
