Cliff-stabilisation works. The project comprises the cliff stabilisation works on a section of unstable slope within an urban environment in Southend on Sea. The long-term proposal is to develop and construct a museum on part of the cliff gardens at Southend on Sea. The proposed museum structure will encompass a deep basement which will provide a permanent stabilisation solution to the site; however due to the history of cliff instability and the timescales of the Museum project, the slope stability remediation works of the current site are to be undertaken prior to the construction of the new museum to restore the site back to public use. The aim of the project is to provide an economic cliff stabilisation solution that is of benefit to the museum structure, but with the main focus of the work to make the slope safe.
