The MCA, in collaboration with the Crafts Council, is commissioning a study of the Crafts sector with the following objectives: — to produce a detailed report on the state of play of the crafts industry in relation to the use of on-line technologies, in particular, eCommerce, — to identify opportunities for this sector which may result from the adoption of eCommerce including opportunities for the Crafts industry to extend its reach to global markets; and opportunities for ‘born global' products and services in the Maltese crafts industry, — to make recommendations, including relevant costings, regarding possible initiatives to be undertaken between 2015 and 2020, aimed either at the industry as a whole or specific sectors within the industry, designed to increase the economic return of this industry via the adoption of eCommerce, and — to propose a strategy and action plan for the period 2015-2020, for the implementation of the proposed recommendations and/or initiatives.
