The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to: — Give advance notice that Crown Commercial service (CCS) (as the Contracting Authority) intends to undertake a tendering exercise to establish a new contracting vehicle to service Central Government and Wider Public Sector Organisations for their Office Supplies requirements. The proposed new agreements for customers will replace the Government Office Supplies Contract (GOSC RM917) which expires 30 April 2016. — Identify suppliers who would like to participate in an industry day. The purpose of the industry day is to explain the business requirement and procurement strategy options in more detail. The industry day will also provide an opportunity for suppliers to ask questions, seek feedback and input to the commercial agreement strategy. It is anticipated that the industry day will take place on TBC, at a venue TBC, these details are subject to final confirmation. The early proposition is that the requirement will cover the following product areas: 1. Desktop Stationery and Associated Office Supplies to include: General Office Stationery such as pens, pencils and desktop accessories; Office paper; Small Office Machines such as adding machines and laminators; and Janitorial Supplies such as washroom supplies and waste containers within a single lot. 2. Electronic Office Supplies (EOS) such as print toner cartridges and Electronic Storage Media as a single lot. This lot also involves toner waste collection and recycling. CCS intend undertaking discussions with suppliers on this proposition in order to gain market insight on the potential contract structure and the approach to market. Of particular focus will be EOS and the Authority's sub categorisation of this product set and approach to market. Closed Loop was a cross government initiative that took office white paper waste including official and secret documents, segregated, securely destroyed and recycled into office paper products (primarily copier paper) for sale to participating organisations. Whilst this service is currently provided through Lot 1 of the legacy framework (RM917) a decision has been taken that Closed Loop will not form part of the future Office Supplies strategy and a replacement 100 % recycled copier paper will be sourced.
