Master Slave Manipulator Systems and Power Manipulator Systems for a new research facility.

The UK Atomic Energy Authority is a non-departmental government body carrying out research into the potential of nuclear fusion as a future source of energy. It is undertaking the design and build of a new research centre for Remote Handling and Robotics systems, known as the Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE) facility. The Authority has a requirement to procure a number of master slave manipulator systems and power manipulator systems for installation in the RACE facility. The intention is that these systems will be used to support a number of projects to develop and demonstrate Remote Handing solutions for a range of industrial clients. The Authority would like to receive proposals from suppliers of master slave manipulator and power manipulator systems to meet these requirements. This PIN has been published to advertise the Authorities requirements and enable contact with suitable companies. The Authority will conduct a dialogue with the market place. This may result in a call for competition based on the content of the requirement achieved through the dialogue and may include either combined or separate contracts for a number of manipulator systems.
