Detection apparatus for mines. The Authority has a potential requirement to design, develop and supply an engineering solution to enable a vehicle attachment to Cross UK Bridging Assets when attached to its target set of medium protected mobility vehicles (MPV). The solution shall be compatible with NATO STANAG 2010. The requirement is for circa 200 units. Expressions of interest are invited from companies who will accept the role of prime contractor and be capable of designing and producing an engineering solution to meet this requirement. The Prime Contractor will be expected to work with the project team in order to achieve integration of the capability. Manufacturing activity shall be complete by the end of April 2012. Companies shall note that the supplied capability shall not have any detrimental effect on current in service specialist armour fitted to host platforms and have minimal effect on ECM/EMC. The Authority will be initially obtaining proposals from a number of suppliers and this will allow the Authority to understand the market and carry out an initial down select to develop a business case. It is the Authority’s intention to invite a minimum of 3 and no more than 6 tenderers to submit proposals. Invitation to tender [ITT] documentation will be issued to selected companies following the Authority’s assessment of the Companies responses to the Pre Qualification Questionnaire [PQQ]. ITT’s will be assessed to establish the most economically advantageous / best value for money solution which fully meets the requirement. Full criteria will be specified in the ITT alongside the evaluation process. Late expressions of interest from those companies wishing to be considered as Prime Contractor will not be considered. Interested companies must be “X” listed. Should interested parties wish to provide any promotional material for review, please ensure this does not exceed 5 A4 size pages. Companies shall also detail their previous experience in this field. The announcement of a future requirement is not to be construed as confirmation that a tender/contract will subsequently be issued. Announcements are for information only.
