Upgrading of Providence Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Government of Seychelles has received funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the European Development Fund and the African Water Facility towards the cost of the Seychelles Water & Sanitation Project. The Project is implemented by Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) of Seychelles as Promoter, Procuring Entity and Contracting Authority. The contract comprises refurbishment and upgrading of existing Providence WWTP (average flow of 7,000 m3/d) which involves: inlet works with mechanical screening; new inlet pump station; new septage acceptance station; new aeration system with new air blower building; biological reactors; chemical dosing; clarifier tanks; ultraviolet (UV) disinfection; two sludge pump stations; mechanical dewatering; internal flow pump stations; internal process pipework; and all associated civil and site works.
