Somerset County Council is intending to undertake a tender in autumn 2014 for the delivery of healthy weight and physical activity opportunities in Somerset. This work will contribute to the Council's objectives to reduce the number of overweight and obese adults/ children and increase the number of physically active people in Somerset. Is your organisation interested in providing opportunities for residents in Somerset to achieve and maintain a healthy weight?; including: — Increasing physical activity levels; — Improving healthy eating habits; — Healthy weight management. If so, Somerset County Council is holding an event on 3.10.2014 in Ilminster. This event is intended for organisations that may wish to take part in the anticipated tender to have an opportunity to meet other interested organisations and understand what they offer. The Council are currently considering how the contract will work in the future, but it is possible that the model will provide some scope for organisations to work together in collaboration (n.b. contract may be split into Lots however this is unknown at this stage). Following a brief overview of the anticipated service by Somerset County Council, attendees will be given the opportunity to deliver a brief presentation (10 minutes) about their organisation and the services they provide. Due to the venue size, we ask that no more than two representatives attend from each organisation. Places and presentation time slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Organisations that take part will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in any potential future formal procurement. Commercial confidentiality will be respected. This notice does not represent a formal commitment by the Council to undertake a procurement procedure.
