The purpose of this Contract Award Notice is to notify the market of the award of a supplemental agreement for the recycling of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) to Viridor Trident Park Limited for a period of approximately 4 months with the option to extend for 3 months. The proposed supplemental agreement follows the partnership of Caerphilly County Borough Council, The County Council of the City and County of Cardiff, Monmouthshire County Council, Newport City Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council (the Partnership) decision to award an interim residual waste contract and a 25 year residual waste treatment contract (PG contract) to Viridor. The procurement of the PG contract was undertaken in accordance with the EU competitive dialogue procedure and concluded in December 2013. (PG Award OJEU: 2013/S 246-429479 and an interim arrangement for the period until PG commencement for Residual Waste Treatment Solution VEAT OJEU: 2014/S 150-270327 and Interim Residual Waste Treatment Solution Contract Award Notice OJEU: 2014/S 184-324989). The partnership's residual waste is being/will be treated at the Trident Park Facility, Cardiff pursuant to those contracts and IBA is produced as a result of the process of treating the residual waste. The supplemental agreement for recycling IBA is to cover interim recycling arrangements prior to full service commencement for the PG contract on 1.4.16. The County of the City and County of Cardiff communicated its intention to award this supplemental agreement to Viridor Trident Park Limited through VEAT OJEU 2015/S 157/289661. The award of the supplemental agreement will help the Authority meet their statutory targets for recycling. Please note that Viridor Trident Park Ltd intent to subcontract the recycling of IBA to Johnsons Aggregates and Recycling Ltd.
