Translink’s current on-vehicle (bus) advertising contract terminates in December 2012. Translink invites applications from competent contractors to be considered for the provision of on-vehicle advertising services to now include both bus and rail applications. It is intended to appoint one or more contractors to manage, promote and develop these services, maximising both external and internal advertising opportunities over an initial 5 year term from 1.1.2013 with the options of two further periods of 2.1/2 years. It is anticipated that an appointment will be made no later than mid-October 2012. The commercial arrangements will be based on a guaranteed annual sum paid monthly by the contractor (s) to Translink for exclusive access to the vehicle inventories for the term mentioned, with additional formulae relating to further income generation and use of new media and technology. The current bus fleet comprises 370 vehicles operating in the Greater Belfast area under both Ulsterbus and Metro with c.1000 vehicles operating under Ulsterbus across the rest of Northern Ireland. There will be 43:3 car trainsets operational from January 2013. The bus inventory is made up as follows, as of October 2011, Single Double Goldline* Schoolbuses* * Total. Deck Deck. Gr.
