We require a multiphoton imaging system suitable for in vivo and in vitro fluorescence imaging of a range of fluorophores, at high frame rates, and depths of hundreds of micrometres. The system should be optimised to allow simultaneous electrophysiological (patch clamp and extracellular) recording and imaging. The system must also be easily integrated with stereotaxic frames, anaesthetic lines, micromanipulators, and all other equipment associated with imaging and recording from small animals. As the system will be part of a multi-user facility, flexibility and ease of use are important considerations. The acquisition and data processing software must be comprehensive, intuitive to use and robust. An offline server available for use by numerous users simultaneously is essential. Delivery of the system must be guaranteed by early March 2014.
