SURFnet is seeking an Innovation Partner who will work closely with SURFnet on the design, development, building, delivery and maintenance of a Wi-Fi-as-a-Service environment for our connected Institutions, as an extension of the current National Research Infrastructure in the Netherlands. SURFnet believes that high network capacity, along with secure and transparent access to the SURFnet network and the internet, enables innovation and contributes to the quality of education and research in the Netherlands. From this perspective, SURFnet wants to provide its customers with a high quality, sustainable managed Wi-Fi service. In WaaS, the Innovation Partner and SURFnet work together on the following activities, which among others will be topics for discussion: — Design of the network architecture of WaaS; — Development, building and delivery of WaaS; — Further development of the WaaS business model; — Configuration and operational management; — Support organisation setup and operation; — Radio planning and verification; — Acquisition of needed hardware, software and licences; — Stimulation of innovative co-development of new features for the WaaS.
