Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) Devices.

The Authority has appointed a Contractor for the provision of Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) Devices and supporting services, on behalf of the UK Fisheries Authorities (FAs), which comprises of the following Fishing Authorities: — Marine Management Organisation (MMO), — Marine Scotland (MS), — Department for Agriculture and Rural Development of Northern Ireland (DARDNI), — Welsh Government (WG), — Dept of Environment Food and Agriculture, Isle of Man (DEFA), — Dept of Environment, States of Jersey, — Bailiwick of Guernsey. The VMS Device is required to be produced according to the specification developed by the Fishing Authorities, and installed on specified fishing vessels. The Device will fulfil a number of functions, including the transmission of position reports at specified intervals.
