24 14 - Provision of Research Services (Approved Housing Bodies in EU Countries)

The overall purpose of this research is to inform the DHLGH’s (Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage) strategic review of the sector. The research will provide a European perspective on how ‘AHB-type’ (Approved Housing Body) housing providers function in other countries in Europe. These insights will inform both the DHLGH and stakeholders contributing to the review of the sector. While no policy direction for the sector has been earmarked, this research, in line with the specification and requirements detailed below, will examine a range of social housing delivery mechanisms in other jurisdictions to identify any approaches that the Irish AHB sector could pursue.
