SNBTS is building a new National Centre for the manufacturing, testing and distribution of blood, tissue and cell products. The construction is being undertaken by Interserve Construction Ltd who are estimated to hand over the building to SNBTS on 10.11.2016. Prior to hand over the contractor will perform a pharmaceutical clean. Before SNBTS can transfer operations to the building temperature mapping is required in a number of cold rooms, freezers, fridges and incubators. The aim of the temperature mapping is to provide evidence, to regulatory standards, that the required temperature specifications are being met. SNBTS is seeking to outsource this work. Temperature mapping is required as follows: — 9 No. +4 °C cold rooms; — 7 No. < -20 °C cold rooms; — 8 No. ambient stores; — 46 No. +4 °C fridges; — 48 No. freezers (-20 °C, -40 °C, -80 °C); — 31 No. Incubators (non CO2). Notes. The table below is a guideline to the minimum number of probes for a mapping exercise and details potential locations and acceptable number of failures. Size (volume) Minimum number of loggers / probes required to cover storage volume and to monitor the EMS probe How many loggers can fail before the exercise has to be repeated. Up to 3 cu ft/0.1 m³ (100 litres) 3; (with at least one per shelf) 0. Between 3 cu ft/0.1 m³ (100 litres) and 25 cu ft/0.651 m³ (650 litres) 10; (8 corners, geometric centre and unit control probe) 1; (but not next to the unit control probe). Greater than 25 cu ft/0.651 m³ (650 litres) 12; (8 corners, geometric centre of each side at monitoring (e.g. EMS) and unit control probe) 1; (but not next to the unit control probe). Cold rooms/ storage areas (containing fluids) 16; (placed where materials are stored at monitoring, e.g. EMS probes(s) and unit control probe) 2; (but not in the same area and acceptance must be justifiable).
