Wolverhampton City Council has a statutory duty to enforce on and off-street parking regulations in the city under the Traffic Management Act 2004, s78. Civil Parking Enforcement was first introduced in Wolverhampton in February 2007 and the current contract will expire in February 2014. In the region of 25,000 Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are served each year for both on and off-Street parking contraventions. The Council now seeks a Civil Parking Enforcement contractor committed to providing an efficient, competent and high quality enforcement service in accordance with the contract specification and current legislation. The current enforcement service supports local environment initiatives and deploys bicycles as well as traditional vehicles and mopeds. The Council may also during this contract term, expand the role of the Contractor to include the enforcement of moving traffic violations and other highway management related functions.
