In Nepal there is an urgent need for medical equipment and gears, safe management of hazardous medical waste, and access to clean and safe water ystem for hospitals in the current context as multiple waves of Covid-19 continue to affect the populace, majority of which is still unvaccinated. During the second wave, Covid deaths occurring due to shortage of oxygen supply only in Nepal remains high but undocumented. The risk remains high as ever given its open border with India. In this regard, the GoN has requested for assistance from development partners in strengthening its health care system. In addition, Province 1 Government of Nepal has requested SDC for its technical and financial assistance. The SDC has decided to cooperate with Province 1 on its fight against the global pandemic of Covid-19 and intends to cover eligible payments under the contract Nepal – Supply, Delivery and Installation of Two Oxygen Plants.
