Further to the success of the PRO-LITE procurement Transport for London undertook, the approach — to identify and put in place long-term contracts for products that will demonstrate optimal Whole Life Costs and performance — will now be extended to a range of Smoke and Fire Dampers. London Underground typically utilise motorised and non-motorised smoke and fire dampers. Sizes range from 100 mm diameter or 200 x 200 mm square upwards. Circular, square and rectangular dampers are used. Dampers are installed to maintain compartmentation where ventilation openings or ducts penetrate walls, floors and ceilings.
