Infrastruction & Application Monitoring and Management

Currently the GMC IS Infrastructure Team use a number of products and bespoke scripts for monitoring and alerting and are keen to consolidate. Some applications have limited monitoring, making it difficult to troubleshoot when issues arise and there is currently a limited amount of historic usage data available to allow for trend/spike analysis. Key Project Objectives To reduce the number of products and bespoke scripts used for monitoring To improve system monitoring and troubleshooting capability. Identify and resolve issues before they impact users. Improve business productivity by helping to avoid unplanned system outages. Capture of historic data to enable root cause analysis after an incident has occurred. To have a consistent process for generating alerts and for the alerts to be meaningful. The chosen product should require minimal infrastructure for itself. The ability to create and play user journeys to monitor performance and address concerns when users report that a particular application is running slowly.
