To provide specialist professional technical advice to the Councils and other public sector organisations during the planning applications and development consent order process for public and private sector projects including without limitation Major Infrastructure Projects e.g. a new generation of nuclear power stations. The new generation power stations will be Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects for the purposes of the Planning Act 2008. Advice may also be required in connection with other major infrastructure projects across the South West including projects such as, changes to National Grid infrastructure and the proposed Severn Barrage. National Grids Hinkley point C connection project focussing on the proposed route corridors between Bridgwater in Somerset and Seabank nr Avonmouth and associated works. Local infrastructure projects such as the proposed Parrett Barrier may also require support through the contract. Capacity or advice may be required to support Local Authority service delivery on key regeneration projects, such as the local development framework, in implementing Economic Masterplans, Masterplanning, spatial planning, urban design and on research, feasibility studies, community engagement, consultation and external communication. Technical advice, support in the drafting of documentation, critical review of documentation. Representation, as and if required during the course of the project.
