In Service Support of Diving and Life Support Equipment

The Defence equipment and support (DE&S) Maritime combat systems delivery team is considering negotiating and awarding contracts for the procurement and support of a range of diving and life support equipment for the military. Diving equipment is currently supported through several contracts with various suppliers of diving equipment. DE&S intends to rationalise the supply chain by placing a reduced number of contracts with Prime contractors to drive and deliver improvements in efficiency and quality of support. DE&S is interested in procuring the best value for money COTS solutions, therefore suppliers may suggest alternative equipment to that currently provided to DE&S. As part of the tendering process suppliers will be required to demonstrate that their alternative equipment is ‘fit for purpose’ and at least of equivalent safety and capability standards to that currently provided to DE&S. Contracts are scheduled to be awarded from November 2019. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) has been issued to better understand the market, the Authority is inviting interested parties to provide details on their capabilities in this field. This PIN is not a means to seek formal expressions of interest; that opportunity may become available once DE&S has an improved understanding of the market. If you are interested in this requirement, either as a Prime Contractor or as a supplier of diving or life support equipment please send an email to the point of contact referenced in this notice. Your email shall be no longer than 300 words and shall provide evidence of your capability in supply chain management or as a supplier of diving or life support equipment, including; underwater tools, diving apparel and ancillaries, breathing apparatus and cylinders etc. This information will not be used to down select suppliers. Any information provided for the above will be kept confidential. If interested in this requirement, please contact Mark Spicer. A formal notice may follow in due course.
