The engineering design group - Prinsensgate 26 rehabilitation.

Prinsensgate 26 is a block of flats built in 1880-1881 and is located in an area planned for conservation. The building was designed by architect Henrik Nissen. Parliament is now in the process of planning a major renovation of the building. The work includes the complete renovation of Prinsensgate 26 with facade preservation, and preparing the building for a possible future development. The rehabilitation will include the demolition of the inner coating and the substructure, protection of facade, excavation of the second lower floor, and the establishment of a new cast in situ substructure within the existing facade. A draft project has been initiated for this work under the auspices of the Parliamentary framework agreement partners, this will be completed in January 2013 and will form the foundation of the ongoing process to develop and make plans for the building. The project will be implemented from the preliminary project as a BIM project based on the IFC standards, focusing on collision control, visual inspection and interdisciplinary coordination. The following schedule is currently set up for the project: The draft project - finished by January 2013 (Delivered via the existing framework agreements) The preliminary project - completed by May 2013 Detail engineering - completed by December 2013 Construction start-up - June 2014 Completion and occupancy date - June 2016 Warranty claims period 2016-2021 The engineering design group shall provide resources for the following areas: Project group coordinator (must be external resource) Professional architect modeling Construction consultancy engineer Consulting engineers within ventilation, heating and sanitary facilities Electrical consulting engineers Geologist consulting engineers Building Information model coordinator In addition, the group will contribute their expertise within the following: Environment consulting engineers Acoustics consulting engineer Fire-proofing consulting engineer physics of the building The cost of the project's construction is estimated to be about 225 000 000 NOK excluding VAT. The building consists of 6 floors and a basement (U1), with a total area of approximately 6 400 m2. It is planned to expand the building with an additional basement (U2), with an area of about 900 m2, remove the alum slate and the foundation, undermining and the casting of the existing foundation. The areas above ground shall mainly be used for office functionality of a high standard.
