Project Overview: The objectives of the Old Library Redevelopment are, firstly, to conserve and safeguard the building and collections with improved fire protection and environmental controls. Secondly, to create a new Research Collections Study Centre of international standing. Thirdly, to create a new Visitor Centre in the Berkeley Library Podium in conjunction with a re-imagined Book of Kells exhibition and shop. The Old Library Redevelopment Project is being part-funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and Fáilte Ireland.
