Communications equipment. The requirement is to maintain the identified equipments capability to current platforms through Combined Supply and Repair of Line Replacement Units (LRU) together with Post Design Services for a range of Naval Ship and Submarine internal communications equipments, including: Rationalised Internal Communications Legacy Equipment (known as RICE 1 and RICE 2), Main Broadcast and Analogue Infra-Red Communications. The contractor will be required to produce modifications to the existing designs to overcome obsolescence or reliability of LRU. The contractor will be expected to provide Storage for defective items until called forward for repair. The CSA Team places particular emphasis on timely delivery of items and services using incentives to achieve this aim. Bidders may be required to attend MOD establishments and ships during the course of the Contract which may require UK security clearances in some instances. The Contract is proposed to run from August 2012 for 4 years. A Pre-qualification questionnaire may be issued.
