As part of its ongoing commitment to the existing Internet and data services to schools, the County Council wish to appoint supplier(s) to maintain, support and extend their current network infrastructure services. Specifically the following service components are required: Internet and data services, to ensure that SPSN users (educational and learning establishments) have access to safe and monitored internet services to support teaching, learning and relevant business needs (including e-mail services, filtering and caching, web hosting, internet access, firewall and security services). Technical support, network management, maintenance and consultancy services. The services to be procured by this tender are currently provided under a managed service contract which is due to expire in November 2012. It is envisaged that the replacement services will be installed and commissioned in a timely manner to enable the transition of the existing user base to the new services with minimum disruption before expiry of the current contract.
