Hampshire County Council has been at the forefront of Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) since the early 1990's with its ground breaking ROMANSE project. Since then the County Council's Passenger Transport Group has managed the investment in RTPI provision across Hampshire to encompass a central operating system using Orange GPRS communications, depot workstations, at-stop electronic display screens, AVL equipped buses, Traveline SMS and Smartphone devices. This new tender opportunity shall enable the continued deployment of RTPI following the recent successful Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) announcements that include 3 key projects, Hampshire Sustainable Travel Towns (HSTT), Access to National Parks and Transport for South Hampshire (TfSH). In addition, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPS) and Local Transport Plans offer continued opportunities for RTPI deployment. This is a Framework Agreement opportunity for the supply, installation and commissioning including optional maintenance of RTPI for the progressive expansion of RTPI across Hampshire. The Framework Agreement enables other Contracting Authorities, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council, Isle of Wight Council, Dorset County Council, Poole Borough Council, Bournemouth Borough Council and Surrey County Council to procure RTPI.
