The purpose of the facility is to provide a state of the art facility for aeroacoustic measurements. The use will be airframe noise measurements and the control of landing gear and high-lift devices noise sources and high-speed trains. The requirement is for a fit-out of an anechoic chamber. The chamber walls, roof and floor have already been constructed. The anechoic chamber will contain an open jet wind tunnel that is currently being manufactured and will be installed under a separate contract. The specific work involved in the fit-out of the anechoic chamber will include: 1. Supplying and fitting appropriate acoustic treatment to the interior of the chamber to achieve an anechoic environment; 2. Designing and creating a floor above the wedges; 3. Acoustically treating the ventilation/pressure equalisation holes in the chamber; 4. Acoustically treating the exposed wind tunnel surfaces that are located inside the anechoic chamber; 5. Fitting a suitable door to the chamber; 6. Installing suitable lighting in the chamber; 7. Acoustically treating apertures. The expected delivery will be incorporating the acoustic treatments specified in this document into the anechoic chamber. The Tenderers proposals shall comply with all relevant legislation (standards applicable to an installation) equipment of this type current at the date of tender return including as applicable (but not limited to) British and European Standards, CIBSE guides, CDM Regulations, accepted best practice standards/procedures, and be fit for purpose etc.
