Building Materials

As part of the strategic alliance between Government Procurement Service (GPS) and UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS), UK SBS (formerly known as RCUK SSC Ltd) took over the management and the re-let of RM632 Building Materials and Associated Managed Services. RM632 Building Materials and Associated Managed Services is due to expire March 2014 and UK SBS has established a new arrangement on behalf of GPS. The replacement framework will be for the Supply and Delivery of Building Materials, and will be set up for use by, or on behalf of Central Government departments and their Agencies, Non Departmental Public Bodies, NHS Bodies, Local Authorities, Voluntary Sector Charities, and/or other private organisations acting as managing agents or procuring on behalf of these UK bodies (see sections VI.2, Additional Information). The Materials are predominantly required for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, but could be used for activities within new build programmes. The framework agreement will be established for a 2 year period, with an option to extend for a further 2 x 12 month periods. The lotting structure is as follows: Lot 1: Building Materials ‘One Stop Shop'; Lot 2: Plumbing and Heating; Lot 3: Electrical; Lot 4: Timber and Joinery; Lot 5: Workshop, Industrial & Electrical Tools; Lot 6: Paint and Solvents; Lot 7: Flooring and Tiling; Lot 8: Tool and Small Plant Hire. Suppliers will be expected to offer a broad range of products across each of the lots and offer a national distribution network (for lot specific information, please refer to Annex B, Information about lots). The proposed timescales for this procurement activity are outlined below. Please note that these dates are tentative and may be subject to change. - 26th of November - PIN Notice published; - 9.12.2013 - Supplier Engagement Event. An event is being arranged for suppliers to attend an event in Swindon to understand the requirements, the proposed procurement strategy and provide the opportunity for all to input in to the proposals and to ask questions. Information on how to register to attend this are detailed below. If there is anything specific that you wish to be considered for inclusion at this event, please put your suggestions forward to buildingmaterials@uksbs.co.uk - 13.12.2013 – Supplier Engagement Event. As above, a further event is scheduled to be held in Swindon and information on how to register are detailed below. - 20.12.2013 – Publish Contract Notice and Issue ITT. The opportunity will be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union. - 7.2.2014 – Tender submission deadlines; - 10.2.2014 to 20.3.2014 – Evaluation Period; - 25.3.2014 – Issue Intention to Award Letters; - 26.3.2014 to 4.4.2014 – Standstill Period; - 7.4.2014 – Issue Award Confirmation to Suppliers; - 7.4.2014 – Publish Contract Award Notice; - 10.4.2014 – Framework Agreement Live.
