PURCH1173 Infrastructure Design Team.

PURCH1173 Infrastructure Design Team. The University of Glasgow is one of the world's leading research intensive universities. The University Strategic Plan ‘Glasgow 2020 — A Global Vision' sets out the vision of the University to enhance its position in the global higher education and research sector. To support this, the University recently acquired the 14 acre Western Infirmary Hospital which will become available in 2016. This represents an important and historic opportunity to reshape the university campus in addition to introducing allied business and commercial opportunities. The University has developed a Campus Development Framework which was approved by Glasgow City Council in summer 2014 and sets the strategic planning tool for the future development of the campus. The Campus Development Framework may be downloaded from http://www.gla.ac.uk/about/campusdevelopment/framework/ The University is seeking to procure a multi-discipline Infrastructure Design Team, who will support and work in in close collaboration with the Masterplan team. This will effectively form a single seamless team, under the leadership and coordination of the Masterplanner, up to obtaining Planning and other Statutory Consents (RIBA 2013 Stage 3). Thereafter, the Infrastructure Design Team will be responsible for the development of the design through to completion. The Infrastructure Design Team may be novated to the delivery vehicle. The delivery of the infrastructure and landscape works will be phased to suit the building delivery programme. It is not anticipated that members of the Infrastructure Design Team will be precluded from participating in individual building projects being procured by the University. Contract for 10 years to support the Strategic University of Glasgow Estate Development Programme, fixed term with options to extend will be established at tender stage. Whilst the primary focus of the appointment will be the expanded Gilmorehill Campus site, it may also be used for studies on the University's other sites.
