Contract description The TA operation aims at preparing the African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI), a well-established and recognized African institution specialized in risk mitigation on investments, to increase its capabilities in the energy sector to originate and underwrite projects on a sustainable basis and in the long term. A secondary goal is to prepare ATI to become one of the key partners and members in Africa for the Africa Energy Guarantee Fund (AEGF), which aims at enhancing access to proper risk mitigation and credit enhancement for energy sector projects in Africa, meeting the criteria of the UN Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) initiative. The main tasks of this operation will be to provide support to strengthen ATI’s underwriting team and processes, review ATI’s risk management and reinsurance strategy, develop a business plan and business development strategy in the energy sector (as defined under the SE4All initiative: access to energy, renewable energy, and energy efficiency). Additional tasks will include support to increase ATI’s corporate communication and visibility and, in due course, build up ATI-AEGF operational linkages. The expert team will be composed of an expert in underwriting energy related transactions and a specialist in marketing and business development, supported by short term experts in the fields of reinsurance, technical reserve, training, IT and policy analysis. 8.
