Acquiring of multi-beam echo sounder

The Norwegian Hydrographic Service intends to acquire 1 multi-beam echo sounder of the type EM2040 Compact Dual Head, included a 3 years maintenance agreement. The equipment will be install on a decommissioned survey launch placed in Stavanger, Norway. The installation is to be done by the supplier. After the installation the launch will be sent to the Albanian Hydrographic Service and be used for surveying in the coastal area and on the continental platform. The launch was originally constructed for installation of EM3002 DH. We intend to sign a contract with Kongsberg Maritime AS. Kongsberg Maritime AS is the only known supplier that can install a multi-beam echo sounder system without doing significant changes on the hull, both the inner and outer side. The launch is at present on land in Stavanger and available for inspection. The value of the multi-beam echo sounder, inclusive installation and maintenance agreement, is estimated to roughly 1 400 000 NOK. The equipment for compensating the launch movements during surveying (MRU) will be acquired in a separate invitation to tender.
