The BBC is seeking to establish a roster of non-exclusive, competitive pan-BBC framework agreements for the supply of Production Equipment Dry Hire services across all of the BBC UK sites, covering the following lots: Lot 1: Cameras and accessories, grip and crane equipment and display screens. Lot 2: Specialist cameras and accessories. Lot 3: Production audio equipment, talkback, radio mics and walkie-talkie equipment. Lot 4: Editing equipment and linear and file-based record and replay devices. Products must be compatible with existing systems and technical standards within the BBC and should reflect the needs of the BBC to align itself with the latest technology. The product range will reflect the operational needs of the BBC during the lifetime of the contract. It must be dynamically managed to reflect changing technologies employed within the broadcast environment, with commitment and ability in terms of a proactive approach to collaboration with the BBC. Suppliers must have proven experience and capability as a supplier of an extensive range of broadcast production equipment hire services to the film and broadcast industry and of dealing with large multi-site/ multi-department organisations, covering at least one or more of the following genres: drama, factual, entertainment, news, sport and live events. The aim of the framework is to provide competitive agreements covering a broad/diverse range of equipment, timely advice on equipment hire and use, high quality technical back up and support and high level response and/or replacement. Suppliers must demonstrate that they can offer sufficient breadth of equipment, levels of infrastructure and capacity in terms of portfolio and alignment with the latest technology, technical know-how and expertise, delivery resources, processing and storage. Suppliers must be able to supply various BBC productions simultaneously in diverse and sometimes remote UK locations across the UK, as may be required, and demonstrate the ability to offer comprehensive technical support across the full range of products, which will include applications advice specific to broadcast environments. The BBC requires suppliers to demonstrate that all products are generally available from stock, being supported by appropriate inventory levels. A range of rapid delivery solutions will be required to all BBC premises to include next day delivery as a standard offering. Delivery will be across a wide geographic area and any charges for such deliveries will be incorporated into the pricing of all products to the BBC. Suppliers may be invited to take part in mini competitions for productions whose spend and/or production period are of a significant value. Call off contracts may be used for such requirements and the mini competition may include a reverse e-auction for significant value spend.
