Procurement of scientific echosounder system with split-beam, broadband and multi-frequency capability, including 2 transducers.

DTU intends to purchase a scientific echosounder system that can be used either in hydroacoustic surveys from a research vessel, or deployed in a mooring or from shore, for mapping and stationary observations of fishes and plankton. The Kongsberg EK80 system is the scientific standard on vessels and research applica-tions worldwide with a broad basis for software and hardware support. Comparable equipment exists at DTU, which allows for direct comparisons and upgrading of the equipment by collaboration. The EK80 WBT Tube contains two wide band transceivers, allowing for simultaneous data acquisition at two split-beam frequencies. The transceivers are contained in a depth-rated housing, which allows for submerged deployments. The system includes a 120 kHz and a 70 kHz wideband transducer which will be connected to the Tube by 5 m long cables. Licences for the two transducer, and an addi-tional transducer that is available at DTU, are included in the offer. In addition, a calibration sphere is included for scientific-standard calibration, and a dummy load for lab testing purposes
