Nepal: The Supply and Delivery of Medical Equipment and Goods

Despite the GoN’s efforts in increasing testing capacities, isolation and quarantine facilities, and intensive care units (ICUs), Nepal severely lacks medical equipment and health care infrastructure. There is an urgent need for medical equipment and gears, safe management of hazardous medical waste, and access to clean and safe water system for hospitals in the current context as the number of Covid -9 cases rise sharply across the country. In this regard, the GoN has requested for assistance from development partners in strengthening its health care system. In addition, Province 1 Government of Nepal has requested SDC for its technical and financial assistance. The SDC has decided to cooperate with Province 1 on its fight against the global pandemic of Covid-19 and intends to cover eligible payments under the contract for the supply and delivery of medical equipment and goods.
